West Australian beers have proven their supremacy by taking out the Trophy's for Best in Show at this year's Cryer Malt Perth Royal Beer Show.

Held in Perth on June 11, the already highly decorated Colonial Brewing Company collected three Trophy's including the Trophy for Best Commercial Beer of the Show for the Kolsch.  Colonial went on to take home the Trophy for Best Ale Draught as well as the coveted Premier's Trophy (award on behalf of the WA Government) for the Best WA Beer of the Show.

"Their Best in Show for the Kolsch represents a world-class example of a top-class beer," says the 2009 chief judge Brendan Varis. "WA beer drinkers should be grateful and happy to have beers of this quality available to them locally. It's great to know we have this kind of beer in our own backyard."

Colonial Kolsch is available on tap at The ROYAL, at the brewery itself in Margaret River or at the Malt Lounge on Dunsborough.
